Hims Verdict

If you want a mainstream, one‑stop telehealth shop with a broad men’s catalog: ED and PE meds, hair‑loss options (including topical finasteride + minoxidil), online psychiatry, and multi‑track weight‑loss programs. Hims remains a top‑tier, highly convenient pick. New in 2025, Hims added a low‑T category centered on enclomiphene (“Testosterone Rx”), with oral testosterone (KYZATREX®) announced and injectable TRT flagged as a future offering, not yet available. That’s meaningful expansion beyond the brand’s historical focus on ED/hair. Pricing is transparent on product pages but can be confusing because “as‑low‑as” rates depend on multi‑month prepay; policies around compounded GLP‑1s have also evolved with the FDA’s shortage resolutions.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Wide men’s catalog
  • Streamlined online onboarding
  • At-home labs
  • Statewide coverage

Cons

  • “As low as” prices usually require 6–12‑month prepayment;
  • Availability varies by state.
  • 24–72 hour response times.

Is Hims right for you?

Choose Hims if you want a single login to manage common men’s needs: hair regrowth (oral + topical), sexual health (ED/PE), weight loss (oral kits and GLP‑1s where available), and ongoing mental‑health/psychiatry. The recent Testosterone by Hims rollout adds a meaningful lane for low‑T patients who prefer an enclomiphene‑first approach, with labs and follow‑ups baked in; injectable TRT is not available as of this review (Hims lists it as an upcoming option and states “No” in the current FAQ).

Where Hims is less ideal: if you want month‑to‑month GLP‑1 pricing without prepay; if you require injector‑based TRT immediately; or if you need live phone/chat support at all hours. Also note that Hims’ compounded medications carry standard compounding caveats (not FDA‑approved).

Hims is a polished, comprehensive men’s telehealth platform that’s expanded beyond its ED/hair roots into weight‑loss and low‑T care while maintaining accessible entry points for common conditions. Pricing is competitive if you’re comfortable with prepayment, and the catalog breadth is a genuine advantage. Watch the fine print on auto‑renewals, compounded products, packaging, and evolving GLP‑1 availability and read the checkout totals carefully. For most men looking for a single, national platform, Hims earns our recommendation.

Pricing

20 / 25

Hair-loss combos like the finasteride/minoxidil chew or spray start at $35 per month with refills included, while psychiatry meds begin at $49 per month for SSRIs, SNRIs, or bupropion. Weight-loss oral medication kits are marketed from $69 per month when you prepay ten months, compounded GLP-1 injections headline $199 per month with a 12-month prepay, and branded injectables (Wegovy, Zepbound, Mounjaro, Ozempic) span roughly $1,799–$1,999 per month. Those “as low as” claims only materialize if you lock into multi-month upfront payments; month-to-month pricing tends to land closer to $299–$599, and every prescription order still shows a $5 pharmacy handling fee at checkout. We appreciate the per-dose calculators and member dashboards, but patients should budget realistically for titration, lab work, and shipping add-ons before comparing Hims to local pharmacy cash prices.

Quality

16 / 20

Hims leans on licensed MDs and NPs across all 50 states and CLIA-certified partner labs for programs that require diagnostics. Their Quality & Safety framework touts FDA-registered ingredient sourcing, Certificates of Analysis, and USP/cGMP-aligned cleanroom compounding, with beyond-use dating and labeling controls baked in. They’re transparent that compounded formulas—enclomiphene blends, topical finasteride mixes, compounded GLP-1s—are not FDA approved, and safety disclaimers note things like non–child-resistant packaging. Care is strictly cash-pay, but the medical teams follow telehealth prescribing guardrails and document clear contraindications and monitoring requirements.

Onboarding

13 / 15

Onboarding starts with a symptom-specific intake that gathers ID, vitals, medical history, and photos before routing your chart to a provider licensed in your state. Many categories can be cleared asynchronously via secure messaging, yet states that mandate synchronous care (e.g., for weight-loss scripts or controlled meds) require a quick audio or video visit. Weight-loss and low-testosterone programs bundle home lab kits or vitals checks, and the care team coordinates shipping, pickup, and reminders inside the app. Provider messaging is included with every plan, but there’s no live chat; follow-ups rely on in-app questionnaires and scheduled check-ins.

Medication Options

13 / 15

Hims’ formulary remains one of the deepest in men’s telehealth—ED (sildenafil, tadalafil, Stendra, chewables), PE (sertraline, topical sprays), hair (oral and topical finasteride/minoxidil hybrids, ketoconazole add-ons), dermatology, mental health (SSRIs, SNRIs, bupropion, propranolol), and multi-tier weight-loss plans spanning oral combos and compounded semaglutide alongside branded GLP-1s. The 2025 expansion into low testosterone adds enclomiphene-only or enclomiphene plus tadalafil options with announced roadmaps for oral Kyzatrex and injectable TRT. You still won’t find PT-141, cosmetic injectables, or broader peptide stacks, but custom compounding delivers meaningful flexibility for most men’s health use cases if you’re comfortable with non-FDA-approved blends.

Shipping & Fulfillment

8 / 10

Once a provider signs off, prescriptions leave Hims’ partner pharmacies in 1–2 business days via USPS, DHL eCommerce, or FedEx in unbranded packaging. Marketing copy touts free shipping, but checkout typically adds a $5 pharmacy handling fee on prescription orders, and there’s still no expedited upgrade. Cold-chain GLP-1 shipments travel with ice packs, can’t be sent to PO boxes, and arrive with explicit refrigerate-now guidance—replacements for temperature excursions are handled case by case. Order tracking and refill timing live inside the app and email, yet customers who need a rush option or local pickup will be disappointed.

Customer Support

7 / 10

Clinical questions funnel through secure in-app messaging where providers aim to respond within 24–72 hours (quicker during weekday hours) and weight-loss or low-T members get scheduled check-ins. Pharmacy hotlines can clarify dosing or side effects, but there’s no true live chat or after-hours escalation desk for urgent issues. General support still relies on email tickets guarded by Cloudflare, so expect friction if you’re troubleshooting insurance reimbursements or payment failures. Setting expectations around asynchronous care is key, even though the platform advertises unlimited messaging.

Usability & Experience

4 / 5

The web portal and Hims app share a polished UI with onboarding wizards, refill controls, habit trackers, and dosage schedules woven into one dashboard. Weight-loss members can log weight, nutrition, and anti-nausea usage while testosterone users see lab timelines and dosage adjustments, all without calling support. Navigation is clean, but pricing copy sometimes contradicts checkout math (multi-month prepay versus monthly headline) and Cloudflare gating can block quick access to help-center articles. Overall it’s a thoughtful experience that still benefits from more proactive fee transparency.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes! Hims Health, Inc. is a public telehealth company based in San Francisco with licensed clinicians in all 50 states and DC, and pharmacy/lab partners listed in its Terms.

Hair and ED/PE tend to be the most affordable (hair from about $35/mo; ED generics vary). Psychiatry/sertraline lists from $49/mo. Weight‑loss injections are marketed from $199–$599/mo depending on plan length and promotions; oral kits from $69/mo with long prepay. Always check the checkout total. Shipping is $5.

Hims is cash‑pay and not enrolled with federal/state programs. Some pages note FSA/HSA eligibility, but Hims also states it doesn’t accept FSA/HSA as direct payment but you may be able to self‑submit.

Post‑shortage, compounding is limited. Hims now describes compounded GLP‑1s as available for specialized needs (e.g., atypical dosing or excipient allergy) and not in all states.

Enclomiphene (with or without tadalafil) anchors Hims’ low‑T program with at‑home labs and follow‑ups; injectable TRT is not currently offered. Oral testosterone (KYZATREX®) is announced on‑site as part of the roadmap.

Hims uses USPS/DHL/FedEx SmartPost; they don’t offer expedited/overnight. GLP‑1 cannot ship to PO Boxes; cold‑chain guidance is published for melted ice packs. Packaging is discreet.

Clinical messaging is asynchronous; general support tickets cite 24–72 hours. Pharmacy phone support numbers are printed on Rx labels.

Steady energy after dose adjustment

TRT & Men's HealthTestosterone Cypionate

Started TRT in March. Intake was simple, NP reviewed labs and adjusted dose in week 4. Energy and mood feel steadier; libido modestly improved. Support replied same day.

Pros

Clear lab guidance, same-day responses, and clean packaging.

Cons

App messaging occasionally times out.

Gradual dose adjustments with clear lab explanations

TRT & Men's HealthTestosterone Cypionate

Intake was quick and the clinician clearly explained what the first lab results meant. We adjusted the dose once after week four and that felt like the right timing. I noticed more steady energy in the mornings by month two and fewer afternoon slumps. Messages were answered within a day and always referenced my actual results. That context made the changes feel intentional.

Pros

Thoughtful dose changes, clear lab context, and quick replies.

Cons

Hold times on the phone line can vary.

More consistent mornings after month two on therapy

TRT & Men's HealthTestosterone Cypionate

The first month was mostly about finding a routine with doses and labs. By month two I noticed mornings felt more consistent and I had fewer dips around lunchtime. The portal reminders kept me from forgetting refills or upcoming draws. Packaging was clean and the instructions were easy to follow. It was a manageable process overall.

Pros

Clear reminders, clean packaging, and manageable routine.

Cons

None mentioned

Support team responded quickly when I had questions

TRT & Men's HealthTestosterone Cypionate

I sent a message with a couple of questions after my first lab and got a clear reply the same afternoon. The explanation made sense and included a link to read more. I felt like the team looked at my specific results rather than sending a template. It made me more confident in the adjustments we made.

Pros

Fast, specific answers and useful links.

Cons

App logs out sooner than I expect.

Weight loss kit fits in my tiny fridge

GLP-1 & Weight LossSemaglutide

Apartment fridge real estate is scarce but the Hims kit uses slim vials that tuck behind the oat milk. App reminders keep me honest on Friday shots and the clinician actually checks in if I skip logging. Customer support replaced a bent needle pack without drama. Pricing still feels a tad premium compared to local compounding.

Pros

Space-saving packaging, proactive app reminders, easy replacements.

Cons

Pricier than my local compounding pharmacy.

Hair routine is easy to stick with

Hair loss

I used Hims for hair loss because I was tired of watching my hairline creep back. After a couple months, shedding slowed down and my hair felt a little thicker at the front. The routine is easy to follow and refills just show up, which helps because I forget stuff. I did have some scalp dryness early on and it settled down. Messages were answered without being weird about it. For a hair plan, it's honestly been the least stressful option I've tried.

Pros

The routine is easy to stick with and shedding slowed over time.

Cons

I had some scalp dryness at the beginning.

Support chat actually helpful

GLP-1 & Weight LossSemaglutide

Had a weird tingling after my third injection and the Hims chat agent looped in a PA within ten minutes. Issue was just dehydration but they followed up the next day which felt very human, even if the chat bot intro is kind of annoying.

Pros

Fast escalation to clinician, real follow-up.

Cons

Chat bot intro drags before a human joins.
